Halloween Oral Health Care

Posted .

In order to ensure your smile has the best chance of success this Halloween season, it is important to create an oral health care candy plan to keep your smile safe. This includes improving your oral health care treatments, your cleaning methods, and exercising caution with the products you consume.

Make sure that you are using the proper toothbrush and cleaning tools to keep your smile clean. This includes a toothbrush that has soft bristles and toothpaste that features a low abrasive fluoride and bicarbonate. Furthermore, avoid brushing immediately after eating or drinking foods that have had a high acidity. Instead, look for low abrasive cleaning products such as rinsing your mouth out with water or chewing sugarless gum to help promote saliva flow.

Be careful with the products you consume. If they are too hard, they can easily chip or crack your teeth. This includes Halloween staples such as candy apples, popcorn balls, and popcorn kernels. In addition, debris that lingers in your mouth can increase the time tooth decay can occur. As an alternative, swap out unhealthy sweets with healthy treats.
